Chrome Plating.

Hard chrome resurfacing restores worn or damaged components by applying a durable chromium coating to critical surfaces. This process improves wear resistance, corrosion protection, and dimensional accuracy for hydraulic and industrial applications.

Outer Diameter (OD) Hard Chrome Resurfacing
OD resurfacing is commonly used on hydraulic rods, shafts, pins, and rollers. The damaged surface is cleaned, machined, and prepared before hard chrome is electroplated onto the outer diameter. After plating, the component is precision ground and polished back to OEM specifications, providing a smooth finish and extended service life.

Inner Diameter (ID) Hard Chrome Resurfacing
ID resurfacing is used for hydraulic cylinders, tubes, and bores that experience internal wear or scoring. The inside diameter is prepared and plated with hard chrome to rebuild worn surfaces. The bore is then honed to achieve the correct size, finish, and sealing surface required for proper hydraulic performance. Both OD and ID hard chrome resurfacing offer a cost-effective alternative to full component replacement while restoring strength, performance, and reliability.

  • Hard chrome coatings maintain their hardness even under high operating temperatures.
  • Typical hard chrome hardness ranges from 65–70 HRC, making it one of the hardest industrial coatings
  • Hard chrome has a low coefficient of friction, helping moving components operate more smoothly.
